My wife and I recently took a break away from it all and went on a US Road Trip through Nevada, California, Arizona and Utah. We had been looking forward to this trip after planning it and booking the motorbike and hotels 7 months beforehand and it really did not disappoint.
The trip started in Las Vegas and then continued to Mammoth lakes, Yosemite, San Francisco where we stopped for two nights. We then headed down Highway One to Monterey, Pismo Beach and the Santa Monica. The next stage took us to Palm Springs, Laughlin, Williams, Monument Valley and finally Bryce Canyon before heading back to Las Vegas for one more night of intense heat and slots before the flight home.
All in, we rode just under 3000 miles in 13 days and took in some of the most amazing scenery either of us have ever seen. A fantastic experience, we just wished we had gone for longer.
Here are a few photos of the trip and you can find another selection if you are interested on my Flickr Page
Here is a short and arty video of part of Route 66.
We booked the bike and hotels through California Sunriders and they are thoroughly recommended if you ever wanted to do a road trip in America.
